About the opportunity:
As an Employment Officer in Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) you will play a pivotal role in supporting participants with disabilities to achieve their employment goals. You will provide individualised coaching, guidance, and advocacy to help participants build confidence, develop job skills, and secure meaningful, long-term employment. This role involves working closely with participants, employers, and community organisations to create inclusive employment opportunities. You will support participants through tailored job plans, resume development, interview preparation, and workplace adjustments, ensuring they have the tools and resources needed for success.
What being a Employment Officer involves:
- Provide person-centred case management to support participants into meaningful employment.
- Create and review customised employment plans based on participant strengths and goals.
- Maintain regular contact, offering coaching and adjusting support to ensure progress.
- Collaborate with employers, services, and providers to coordinate wrap-around support.
- Keep accurate records and meet all reporting and compliance requirements.
- Address employment barriers and refer participants to specialist services as needed.
- Deliver job readiness training to improve participants' employability skills.
- Provide post-placement support to help participants succeed in their new roles.
- Advocate for participants with employers, providers, and government agencies.
About you:
- You are experienced in case management or employment support, ideally in disability or community services.
- You are aware of the barriers job seekers with disabilities face and know how to support them into work.
- You are skilled in building rapport through clear and empathetic communication.
- You are confident working with employers and service providers to support placements and adjustments.
- You are solution-focused, using person-centred approaches to overcome employment challenges.
- You are organised, manage caseloads well, and meet deadlines without compromising support quality.
- You are accurate in maintaining records and meeting compliance requirements.
- You are passionate about inclusion and helping people with disabilities reach their employment goals.
