Non-Executive Director - Established For Purpose Organisation
Workways Australia Ltd is seeking applications from suitably qualified people with a passion for positive social impact to become a Non-Executive Director.
Workways Australia Ltd is a not-for-profit charitable organisation that has presence across the eastern seaboard of Australia, providing employment and environmental services. Workways, a subsidiary within the MEGT Group, delivers multiple government funded contracts, including Workforce Australia, Transition to Work, Inclusive Employment Australia and Gippsland Engaged Mentoring. Workways also create environmental impacts via bush regeneration and habitat restoration services under the brand Envite.
In preparation for annual Director movements, Workways are currently seeking applications for up to two Non-Executive Director positions. One appointment is to have expertise and connections within the employment services industry.
It is expected that the Non-Executive Director will possess skills that enable effective contribution to the duties and obligations of the Board. A strong understanding of corporate governance including legal, ethical, fiduciary and financial responsibilities is essential. Workways’ Non-Executive Directors are expected to demonstrate a passion for making a difference in the communities we service.
The Board operates predominately in an online environment, with expected face to face meetings in Queensland or Victoria at least in two instances per year. There are 6 board meetings annually and the successful Directors may be required to sit on a sub-committee which meets via online 4 times per year. There may be additional meetings scheduled based on organisational priorities. The commitment on average is 10 hours per month.
The Non-Executive Director position is remunerated.
Non-Executive Directors are required to complete a National Police History Check, Financial Check, and Working with Children/Vulnerable People Check. The successful appointee will also be required to evidence their Right to Work in Australia and applicable qualifications held.
