Your Role 

WorkPac is seeking a highly motivated Safety Advisor to join our team. The Safety Advisors primary role is to implement and maintain best practice in Workplace Health and Safety management, specifically in the areas of worksite risk and hazard assessments, high levels of client safety interaction and engagement, supporting the completion of quality incident investigations, and the provision of safety training for all regional operatives in accordance with WorkPac’s Safety Management System and relevant data input and maintenance of all safety and risk related activities in our corporate database. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships and partnerships with site managers, clients and FTMs as a subject matter expert
  • Provide advice and support for incident response and investigations
  • Participate in WHS consultation processes including team meetings
  • Assist the National Safety & Risk team to implement strategic WHS objectives, strategies and initiatives
  • Support teams’ compliance with hazard and risk management KPIs (including client hazard registers, risk assessments & development & delivery of safety improvement plans)
  • Provide coaching on safety and risk management with new operatives

Your Skills 

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing health and safety leadership including :

  • Relevant WHS related qualifications (Cert IV WHS, Diploma WHS) preferred;
  • 2 years experience in a similar role (preferably within the Construction, Engineering, or Civil Construction industries);
  • Experience in the application of risk management, hazard identification, incident investigation, and ISO auditing systems
  • Intermediate to High Level Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and database systems;
  • Sound knowledge of relevant QLD WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and AS/NZ Standards.
