Work & Training, along with our valued industrial client near Devonport, NW Tasmania, are very excited to be offering this unique opportunity for someone to work with a professional team in a laboratory setting.
You will obtain your Certificate III in Laboratory Skills in a 24 month time frame – achieve a National Qualification and start working towards your future goals.
What would this involve?
- You would be employed by Work & Training for the duration of your traineeship and hosted to our client.
- Full time Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work.
- Entitlements including four weeks of accumulated annual leave per year.
- Theory training is conducted by experienced trainers on-line and also face to face.
- You would receive mentoring and support throughout the traineeship from a Work & Training Apprenticeship Consultant.
- Your workplace supervisors would provide daily coaching and opportunity for growth.
You will be working under supervision, gaining experience and a broad range of skills and knowledge, to perform a range of laboratory operations, performing procedures and technical tasks within a laboratory and occasional field settings.
- Develop skills and knowledge related to laboratory work.
- Improve your understanding of Work Health & Safety, the importance of keeping the laboratory environment clean and organised, and identifying and controlling risks in the workplace.
- Become part of a fantastic team - communication and participation is highly valued.
- Learn and adhere to strict methods and procedures.
- Gain experience in the use of test equipment and instrumentation.
- Hone your problem solving skills.
- Demonstrate attention to detail when undertaking routine work, with the ability to be meticulous and analytical in your approach.
Desirable Criteria:
- Some background in laboratory work would be advantageous.

- Drivers licence and reliable vehicle.
Wage:
- National Training Wages plus and Industry Award allowances apply.
