Work and Training are currently looking for reliable and physically strong workers to join our team unloading fishing vessels at the Hobart Wharf.
Position Details:
- ⏰ 12-hour shifts: 6:30am – 6:30pm
- 💰 Above award pay rate + penalties
- 📍 Fast-paced, hands-on work environment
- 📅 Start Date: Tuesday, 16 June
- Each unload to take between 3-5 consecutive working days
About the Role: You will be responsible for unloading frozen catch from fishing boats, it is a physically demanding role requiring endurance, strength, and a strong work ethic. ❄️ Some work is conducted in cold conditions, so you must be prepared to work in refrigerated environments. (rotation in this work. 30 mins on with 30 mins off) All suitable PPE will be provided working in this area. There are other working areas involved as well.
Requirements:
- 💪 Physically fit and capable of lifting (10kg-20kg cartons)
- ✅ Reliable and punctual
- ⚡ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- 🦺 Safety-focused mindset
- Good numeracy skills as cartons are numbered
- A Government ID is needed to access Tas Ports( eg: Drivers licence, Passport, Student id card)
