Senior Manager, Commercial Talent and EVP | Perth or Melbourne

This is a 12-month max-term position reporting to the GM HR, Corporate Office. The role can be based either in our Melbourne or Perth Office.

About the team

At Wesfarmers Corporate Office, we believe that building a team of outstanding people and utilising their individual talents is essential to achieving sustainable success.

To attract and retain outstanding people we strive to create an environment where team members can continually grow, thrive and connect. Our HR team helps to bring this to life by partnering with leaders and team members on a broad range of people and culture activities and initiatives.

Why this role is different

  • Strategy, not just sourcing. You will own the Corporate Office talent acquisition strategy and employer value proposition end to end, from market positioning through to the KPIs that prove it is working.
  • A genuine commercial pipeline. You will lead recruitment for the Wesfarmers Business Development team, one of the Group's key commercial talent pipelines, giving you visibility of the capability agenda at the heart of Wesfarmers' growth.
  • Strengthen existing foundations. You will work with the existing high-calibre Talent Acquisition team to shift the model from reactive hiring to proactive, brand-led talent acquisition, and shape what "good" looks like from here.

What you’ll do

Corporate Office Talent Acquisition Strategy and EVP

  • Lead the development and execution of a talent acquisition strategy that shifts the function to proactive, brand-driven talent acquisition
  • Own and continuously evolve Wesfarmers Corporate Office's employer value proposition, translating it into compelling narratives and candidate experiences
  • Build and maintain high-quality external talent networks and pipelines, anticipating future hiring needs rather than responding to them
  • Use data, market intelligence and stakeholder insight to inform sourcing strategy and long-term workforce planning
  • Establish and report on commercial KPIs, including cost-per-hire, pipeline diversity and retention

Business Development and Corporate Office Commercial Recruitment

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for Business Development roles, including graduate recruitment to GM's.
  • Apply a structured assessment framework to evaluate commercial capability across analytical, project and leadership-oriented roles
  • Partner with divisional HR teams to support talent sharing and succession planning for commercial leadership roles across the Group
  • Strengthen Wesfarmers' profile in the external commercial talent market through events, thought leadership and targeted engagement

About You

  • Significant experience in talent acquisition or talent management, ideally within a corporate, commercial or professional services environment
  • A demonstrated track record of building talent strategy and employer brand, not just executing recruitment processes
  • Proven experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders on talent and workforce matters
  • Experience in a large, complex organisation; familiarity with a conglomerate or diversified corporate structure is an advantage
  • Background in or strong exposure to commercial functions such as Business Development, strategy, finance or consulting is highly regarded
  • Strong external presence and networking capability, with the confidence to represent Wesfarmers compellingly in the market
  • A self-directed, owner mindset, with the tenacity to build something new and operate effectively with limited structural support

Why Join Us

  • Competitive remuneration and participation in annual incentive programs
  • Fantastic career and development opportunities across a diverse range of businesses within the Group
  • A flexible and caring working environment
  • Paid primary carer parental leave (16 weeks) and non-primary carer parental leave (4 weeks)
  • Paid leave to volunteer within the community
  • Free OnePass membership and a team member discount card across a range of businesses, including Bunnings, Kmart, Target and Officeworks
  • Study assistance to support further job-related tertiary study
  • Access to leading AI Enterprise tools
