About the team
The Group Treasury team acts as the in-house “banker” to our businesses, supporting them with daily banking and liquidity; management of foreign exchange, interest rate and commodity risk; and working capital efficiency.
In addition, the team is responsible for corporate balance sheet management, particularly in relation to long-term funding, dividend policy, capital management; maintaining strong relationships with the Group’s funding providers and rating agencies; and ensuring financial risk management objectives are met. The team also supports the Wesfarmers’ Group acquisition and divestment activities and strategic growth initiatives
What you’ll do
As part of a tight-knit, collaborative, strategic and commercial team, this role will manage treasury reporting and analytics, implement key Group Treasury systems and lead strategic projects as required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist the Group Treasurer to manage corporate level financial risks
- Lead the preparation of treasury governance and risk reporting including reporting to the Wesfarmers Board
- Work closely with the Group Treasurer to regularly review and update the Group Treasury Policy and related Wesfarmers Group policies
- Lead work to support the implementation of a new treasury management system, liquidity management system and a supply chain finance platform
- Provide treasury advice in respect of a diverse range of businesses and commercial transactions, including potential M&A and other growth opportunities
What you’ll need
- At least 10 years’ experience in a key contributor and/or leadership role within a treasury team of an ASX listed company
- Experience across all key areas of treasury markets, operations and systems; funding; derivatives; trade finance; and risk assessment and management
- Be highly numerical, and have a strong proficiency in financial analysis and modelling skills
- Demonstrated ability to apply commercial thinking and judgement
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a drive for delivering results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder, transaction and project management skills to lead projects within the team and for our businesses
- Ability to lead the team through change and periods of work intensity
- High integrity – hold yourself and the team to the highest standards when dealing with counterparties, and in confidential situations
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
