A fantastic opportunity awaits an experienced and proactive Liability Claims Officer to join of our high-performing General Insurance team, based in our vibrant Perth office.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Liability Claims Team Leader, you'll have the opportunity to actively influence claims outcomes, manage relationships with key stakeholders and participate in initiatives that drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively manage a diverse portfolio of liability claims
  • Coordinate external service providers such as loss assessors, solicitors, and medico-legal specialists
  • Work collaboratively with our in-house legal team to manage external legal providers effectively
  • Review and refine claims processes to continuously drive improvement
  • Analyse incidents and claims data to enhance risk management strategies
  • Prepare insightful management and performance reports
  • Provide feedback to key stakeholders to support better claims performance across Wesfarmers Group
  • Stay informed about legal, insurance, and regulatory developments that may impact claims management processes
  • Contribute to projects and team initiatives as required

What you’ll need

  • At least 12 months experience in a liability claims management role
  • Thorough understanding of general insurance, relevant legislation, and the liability claims processes
  • A proactive approach with strong problem solving, communication and influencing skills
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a supportive team
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite

Nice to have’s

  • Experience with Riskonnect claims management software

About the team

At Wesfarmers, our General Insurance team is responsible for the management, administration and operation of the Group’s risk financing and insurance program. The team works across a range of insurance functions including claims management, underwriting, placement and self-insurance.
