About the team
Our Group Accounting team is responsible for the consolidation and analysis of Wesfarmers Group accounts, management and improvement of finance systems, accounting and taxation matters for the Corporate Office and OneDigital as well as providing a source of expertise for the Wesfarmers Group.

What you’ll do
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a senior stakeholder group across the Corporate Office and OneDigital as well as external engagement across a portfolio of investments.
The remit spans a broad set of priorities including financial control, financial planning and analysis, business partnering, tax and hedge accounting.
Within this, you will operate as a key advisor to OneDigital, a significant and evolving business, supporting increasing activity across strategic initiatives and the progression of its technology and data agenda.
You will lead a capable, well-established team in a high-volume environment, maintaining performance while supporting the ongoing development of the function.
Reporting to our General Manager of Group Accounting, you will take primary responsibility for:
- Financial & Management Reporting: Lead the end-to-end preparation of monthly, half-year and full-year accounts, budgets, forecasts and statutory reporting for Corporate, OneDigital and Treasury entities.
- Finance Business Partnering: Act as a trusted partner to the leadership team, delivering high-quality commercial analysis, performance tracking, and risk/opportunity insights.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor and grow a high-performing team, focusing on capability building and succession planning.
- Governance, Tax & Compliance: Oversee all tax compliance (income tax, FBT, BAS, payroll tax), hedge accounting compliance and documentation, accounts payable governance, and internal control frameworks to mitigate risk.
- Process & System Improvement: Champion continuous improvement including automation and the adoption of AI.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, divisional finance teams, and joint venture partners.
What you’ll need
- CA or CPA qualification
- Significant experience and demonstrated success in accounting within a large and diverse corporate environment
- Strong technical accounting capability, including IFRS and financial reporting requirements
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and business partnering
- Experience leading teams and delivering outcomes in a complex environment
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to simplify financial information and influence at senior levels
- Sound judgement and problem-solving capability
- Excellent attention to detail
- Curiosity and an analytical mindset
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
