About the team
Within the Wesfarmers Corporate Office, our Group Assurance team has a strong commercial focus and is responsible for the internal audit program across the Group. The team works closely with our businesses to deliver meaningful insights and provide pragmatic solutions to continually improve business performance.
What you’ll do
Reporting to our General Manager – Group Assurance, this role will:
- Lead the development and execution of the Internal Audit Plan across relevant portfolios within the Wesfarmers Group
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to establish new ways of working that support the strategic transformation of the internal audit function
- Oversee the day-to-day management of outsourced audit providers
- Lead and participate in internal audits and other projects across the Group
- Prepare and deliver quality reporting for Executive Management, Divisional Audit and Risk Committees and the Wesfarmers Board
- Lead work to support the design and development of payroll related assurance programs or other major projects
- Ensure that the Wesfarmers’ approach to internal audit is aligned to leading practice and emerging industry trends
What you’ll need
- Extensive experience in a senior internal audit and/or assurance role within a large complex environment (ideally a large ASX-Corporate or professional services firm)
- Proven track record in auditing complex organisations and projects, delivering robust assurance and pragmatic, value-add recommendations
- Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a drive for delivering results
- Ability to collaborate with multiple organisational levels and stakeholder types
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) along with influencing and presentation skills and an ability to communicate complex topics simply
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- An inquisitive mindset!
- Tertiary qualification in a Commerce, Engineering or IT related discipline and have completed CA/CPA/CIA accreditation
