About the team

At Wesfarmers, we’re self-insured for workers compensation. Group TeamCover manages this important function by engaging and collaborating with our diverse businesses. We aim to minimise the impact of workplace injuries and achieve positive outcomes for both our team members and our business.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to our Claims Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of claims and will work closely with key stakeholders to achieve optimal return to work and claim outcomes.

  • Proactively manage a claims portfolio within legislative, self-insurance and business requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Provide injured team members with a high level of customer service and trusted advice regarding their claims
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders in developing and implementing claim strategies to ensure timely and sustainable return to work
  • Conduct claim reviews and case conferences as required
  • Develop, coach and mentor team members on strategic claims management

What you’ll need

  • Significant experience working within a workers compensation/insurance environment
  • Excellent knowledge of the current QLD or NSW Workers Compensation Legislation
  • Experience in negotiating return to work and rehabilitation outcomes
  • Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet agreed deadlines
  • A genuine interest and passion to learn and develop new skills 

Nice to have’s

  • Tertiary qualification or training in allied health
