About the team
Our Group Cyber Security (GCS) team is responsible for leading strategy, architecture and risk approaches for cyber security across the Wesfarmers Group, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and risk appetite. GCS collaborates with our businesses to embed robust, forward-thinking cyber practices that deliver real business value. The team also coordinates incident response and intelligence activities across the Group while supporting the divisions in strengthening their cyber threat preparedness.
What you’ll do
Reporting to our Cyber Resilience and Intelligence Lead, this role will:
- Operate proactively to establish strong and effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Triage, investigate and document cyber incidents; support major event coordination and forensic analysis to assess impact and containment
- Contribute to investigation playbooks and enhance incident response procedures, reporting and analytics
- Lead after-action reviews and publish findings to strengthen cyber defence and inform Group-wide practices
- Monitor internal data and external trends to assess threats, guide control requirements and support strategic defence planning
- Manage GCS Lab infrastructure and ensure compliance with technology and cyber security standards across environments
- Promote cross-functional learning through team collaboration, SOC rotations and external engagement
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practice to enhance the Groups ability to anticipate and respond effectively to potential cyber security incidents
What you’ll need
- Proven ability to effectively navigate complex environments with agility and accountability, applying a solutions-focused mindset to manage competing priorities, align diverse stakeholders and drive outcomes
- Demonstrate flexibility and commitment by regularly going above and beyond to deliver great results
- Experience in developing security operations and defence protocols, processes and reporting in hybrid and cloud-centric environments (e.g. AWS and Azure)
- Understanding of security technology including SIEM, EDR, Identity Detection and Network security
- Experience with SIEM, EDR and other security technologies leveraged during incident response and management
- Knowledge and experience in cyber-attack stages
- Skills and experience in protecting networks against malware and malware analysis concepts, methodologies and performing impact assessments
- Experience in threat and risk analysis/modelling, global industry practices, for incident response, threat management and / or security engineering
- Tertiary qualifications in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a Cyber Security specialisation
