What you’ll be doing

Reporting to our Digital Transformation Manager, this role will:

  • Establish strong and effective relationships with a range of both technical and senior business stakeholders
  • Support the development of Corporate Offices’ data and analytics roadmap
  • Partner with the business to define requirements and design data solutions that will drive strategic business value
  • Lead and develop a high performing team to effectively source data assets and deliver analytical solutions into production
  • Effectively communicate engineering standards and delivery progress to ensure alignment and engagement across all stakeholders
  • Proactively identify opportunities to uplift data and analytics capability through data platform optimisation and emerging technologies

What you’ll need

  • Significant experience in data analysis, data modelling and data engineering
  • Strong knowledge of modern cloud platforms, IaC, automated data governance controls and cyber security and risk management principles
  • Ability to code and perform code reviews (preferably in SQL and Python)
  • Experience in leading and developing technical teams
  • Proven project management skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • A naturally inquisitive and analytical mind, and strong ability to problem solve
  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex topics simply
  • A genuine interest and passion to learn and develop new skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or a quantitative field 
  • Certifications in data engineering, data platforms or data governance (preferably in Azure or Snowflake)

The Corporate Office provides corporate services and support to the autonomous Wesfarmers divisions, helping to enable the achievement of Group objectives. The Corporate office leads capital allocation and portfolio management for the Group and focuses on leveraging and enhancing the Group’s reputation to support attraction and retention of talent, securing investment opportunities and maintaining a low-cost capital. To do this, we need great people, working together and role modelling our values and ways of working.

About the team

Our Technology team provides end to end services for our Corporate Office, as well as supporting knowledge sharing and best practice across the Wesfarmers Group.
