  • We’re looking for a full-time insurance specialist to join our General Insurance team, based in our Perth office.

About the team

At Wesfarmers, our General Insurance team is responsible for the management, administration and operation of the Group’s risk financing and insurance program. The team works across a range of insurance functions including claims management, underwriting, placement and self-insurance.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to our Insurance Services Manager, this hands-on role will support the delivery and ongoing management of Wesfarmers’ Group insurance program. You will have a unique opportunity to work on complex programs across a diverse portfolio of businesses, contributing real value while continuing to develop and refine your expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide accurate and efficient insurance and risk advice, guidance and technical support to our businesses
  • Establish strong and effective relationships with a range of key stakeholders
  • Collect, verify and consolidate insurance and risk information
  • Assist in the review of insurance policies, commercial contracts, legislative and regulatory applications and industry developments
  • Support the planning, design, development and implementation of our annual insurance programs
  • Assist with the risk engineering program across the Wesfarmers Group and foster co-operation with the broader insurance program through communication of the approach and value add to the businesses.
  • Other projects and activities supporting the Insurance Services team as required

What you’ll need

  • At least 3 years’ experience in insurance, risk management, or broking - preferably within a complex or corporate environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of general insurance products and program design
  • A keen understanding of contract reviews, insurance clauses, and risk implications
  • Proven ability to engage with stakeholders and communicate complex information clearly
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in contributing to a high-performing team
  • Tertiary qualifications in insurance, business, law or a related field (or working towards)

This role is ideal for candidates with solid risk or insurance experience, looking to expand their exposure and influence within a corporate environment.
