 About the team

Our Group Cyber Security team is responsible for leading strategy, architecture, risk and assurance approaches for cyber security across the Wesfarmers Group to ensure objectives are met and that we operate within risk appetite. In addition, the team coordinates incident response and intelligence activities across the Wesfarmers Group (for significant events) while partnering with our businesses to improve their cyber threat preparedness.

Reporting to our Cyber Fusion Centre Manager, this full-time role will be based in Melbourne CBD (we would consider Perth or Sydney).

What you’ll be doing

  • Establish and lead the cyber security offensive capabilities across the Wesfarmers Group
  • Develop and continuously improve our cyber security offensive standards, frameworks and protocols
  • Improve the cyber security posture for our businesses by identifying cyber defence gaps, recommending changes or enhancements
  • Lead red and purple team engagements
  • Work collaboratively with cyber defence operations and engineering teams on threat hunting and attack simulations
  • Develop, coach and mentor team members on our cyber security operations
  • Contribute to thought leadership as it’s relates to cyber security offensive capabilities

What you’ll need

  • Previous experience working in a similar role within a large, complex environment
  • Strong working knowledge of key cyber security offensive and risk management frameworks  
  • Experience in:
  • Technical security validation
  • Vulnerability assessment and testing
  • Exploit testing and development
  • Threat detection and response
  • Hands-on technical expertise across security technologies and offensive tools
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • A curious mindset with a desire to learn the latest cyber and technology trends, threats and tactics (defence and offense)
  • Be detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be mission-oriented - you love what you do and have a passion for helping humans along to the destination
  • Be a self-starter, and understand how to communicate and work as a team
  • Tertiary qualifications in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a Cyber Security specialisation (or equivalent industry experience) 
  • Relevant certifications highly regarded
