About the team
Our Group Tax team is responsible for providing strategic tax advice and compliance support to the Corporate Office and our businesses within the Wesfarmers Group.
What you’ll do
Reporting to the Group Taxation Manager, this role will:
- Provide strategic tax advice in respect of a diverse range of businesses and commercial transactions, including potential M&A opportunities.
- Provide ongoing technical advice and support to the Corporate Office and the various businesses within the Wesfarmers Group.
- Assist in the lodgement of the Group’s income tax returns, both in Australia and globally.
- Ensure the Group is meeting all tax compliance obligations, including foreign and cross border tax issues in respect of the Group’s offshore businesses.
- Support and guide Group Tax to ensure consistency and quality across all tax related activities.
What you’ll need
- At least 15 years taxation experience, across a broad range of income tax and other tax matters.
- Experience in a similar role within a large advisory firm or corporate environment.
- Exceptional research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding level of attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to positively influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise in a busy environment and adopt a pragmatic approach to ensure a quick turnaround when providing advice.
- People management and leadership skills to drive and develop the team to achieve its objectives.
- Be committed to continuous improvement and driving process efficiencies.
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law or a related discipline and have completed CA/CPA accreditation.
