The Cyber Planning Specialist plays a critical role in enabling the success of GCS to plan, deliver and improve cyber security resilience for the Wesfarmers Group.

The role supports the Group CISO in developing, maintaining and reporting on the strategic plan, portfolio performance and delivery outcomes. 

What you’ll do

Reporting to our Group CISO, this role will:

  • Partner with GCS to develop, refresh, and maintain the GCS Strategy, multi-year roadmap, and annual operating plan ensuring clarity of priorities and dependencies
  • Manage the Group Cyber Portfolio, ensuring visibility of all initiatives, dependencies, risks, budgets, and outcomes
  • Produce concise, data-driven reporting on portfolio outcomes, achievements, resource utilisation, maturity uplift, and performance
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across all reporting artefacts and maintain a single source of truth for performance metrics
  • Continuously improve and implement templates, dashboards, and automations that streamline planning, reporting, and approvals for real-time visibility and management
  • Ensure that cyber strategic initiatives adhere to governance standards, including investment approval, project lifecycle management, architecture reviews and change control

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required with preference for degrees in IT, Engineering, Program / Project Management or related fields
  • Industry Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP®), Program Management Professional (PgMP®), PRINCE2® (Projects IN Controlled Environments), or other Cyber IT Risk or Program / Project Management related certifications
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience in similar roles
  • Experience in designing, reporting and managing program / project risk metrics (cyber security) for both technology and cyber security practitioners and executives
  • Proven experience in program management and reporting within cyber or technology domains; supporting executive-level planning, performance reporting, and strategic documentation
  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks and change management principles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

About the team

Our Group Cyber Security (GCS) team is responsible for leading strategy, architecture and risk approaches for cyber security across the Wesfarmers Group to ensure objectives are met and that we operate within risk appetite.
