The opportunity:

As a Training Specialist - Heavy Vehicle Driving, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality training programs and ensuring the competency of our drivers. Reporting to the Manager of Training, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering professional driver induction training programs, including the TLI31222 Certificate III in Driving Operations (Bus). You will also oversee the performance and development of our training team, driving operational excellence in training processes and delivery.

Key responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Provide heavy vehicle driving training, preparing trainees for license upgrades.
  • Coordinate and deliver driver induction training programs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Drive operational excellence in training processes, programs, and delivery.
  • Oversee and manage the performance of the training team, including planning, scheduling, and development.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new starters, including administration of RTO paperwork and training records.
  • Maintain the training pipeline calendar and allocate tasks to trainers.
  • Oversee the Learning Management System to ensure compliance and documentation accuracy.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational initiatives to improve outcomes.
  • Undertake reporting and administrative activities to support business requirements.

The boxes you'll tick:

  • Certificate IV Training & Assessment (TAE40116)
  • Certificate IV Road Transport (TLI41310) - Heavy Vehicle Driving Instruction, or willingness to obtain
  • Certificate III in Driving Operations (TLI31216) or willingness to obtain
  • Minimum 2 years of experience training and assessing bus drivers or heavy vehicle drivers preferred
  • MR Driver's License essential
  • Knowledge of Heavy Vehicle and Passenger Transport legislation preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn company systems and processes quickly
