Group Risk Manager

Location: Melbourne or Brisbane

Kinetic is Australia and New Zealand’s largest and fastest growing bus operator, with a clear purpose to improve the livelihoods of the communities in which we live and operate. We move people safely, enhance communities and are committed to being an employer of choice. As our business continues to grow and evolve, we are seeking a commercially minded Group Risk Manager to strengthen enterprise risk, governance and compliance capability across our ANZ operations.

Reporting to the Group General Counsel, this role will suit an interdependent self-starter who enjoys building fit-for-purpose frameworks, loves process and governance, and partners closely with the business to enable confident, well-informed decision-making.

The opportunity

  • Lead the practical rollout and embedding of Kinetic’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework across ANZ
  • Translate risk frameworks into workable processes that support commercial outcomes and operational performance
  • Partner with business leaders to integrate risk and governance into day-to-day decision-making
  • Maintain and evolve the Enterprise Risk Register to reflect business priorities and emerging risks
  • Deliver clear, concise and commercially relevant risk reporting to senior leadership, Board committees and external stakeholders
  • Act as the central escalation point for enterprise and emerging risk matters across the group
  • Facilitate risk assessments, workshops and engagement across operations and corporate functions
  • Work closely with the Transformation Team and SMEs to uplift policies, controls and compliance maturity
  • Lead the development and ongoing review of enterprise risk and compliance policies, including modern slavery, ABAC, privacy, whistleblowing, sanctions and third-party due diligence
  • Promote a strong safety, risk and governance culture aligned to Kinetic’s HSEQ obligations

About you

  • 5+ years’ experience in risk management, governance, compliance or legal roles
  • Proven experience operating within complex, multi-site organisations
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks and ANZ regulatory environments
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to balance risk management with business enablement
  • Highly process-driven and comfortable building structure where it does not yet exist
  • Interdependent by nature, able to work autonomously while partnering closely with stakeholders
  • Confident self-starter who shows initiative and drives outcomes without constant direction
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Why join Kinetic

  • High-impact role with enterprise-wide visibility
  • Opportunity to shape and mature risk and governance capability in a growing organisation
  • Collaborative, values-led culture with strong executive engagement
  • Flexible base location in either Melbourne or Brisbane
