Drive Your People Career Forward
Kick-start or grow your People career in the exciting bus industry with Kinetic!
We’re launching a development-focused opportunity within our People Support team for a People professional who is ready to learn, grow, and build a long‑term career in People & Safety. This role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their people advisory experience, gain exposure across a large operational workforce, and continue building capability with strong support and mentoring.
The role is designed as a developmental pathway, providing hands‑on experience and structured learning while supporting leaders and frontline teams across our Tasmania and Victoria depots.
This position focuses on learning by doing, building capability over time, and preparing you for future People Advisor, Senior Advisor, or Business Partner roles. A tailored learning and development program will be built around your experience and development goals.
About the Role
As a People Advisor, you’ll be part of a supportive People Support team and will work closely with People Leaders, employees, and our broader People & Safety function. You’ll be supported to progressively build your confidence and capability, with guidance from experienced People leaders as you take on increasing responsibility.
You’ll be involved in the day‑to‑day people activities that keep our business moving, including:
- Provide advice and guidance on day-to-day employee relations matters, including performance, disciplinary, and grievance issues.
- Support managers with meetings, documentation, and coaching conversations.
- Assist in delivering cyclical people activities that build engagement, diversity, and retention.
- Collate and report on trends, highlighting areas for recognition and improvement.
- Work closely with the People & Safety team and Service Delivery teams to roll out projects and initiatives.
- Help foster a culture that reflects Kinetic’s values.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone early in their HR journey who is curious, motivated, and excited to learn.
You might be:
- A recent graduate in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related discipline, or
- Someone with 1–2 years’ experience in a HR, People & Culture, or people‑facing coordination role
You’ll also bring:
- A genuine interest in people, workplace culture, and employee relations
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships at all levels
- A high level of organisation and attention to detail
- A proactive mindset and willingness to ask questions and learn
- An adaptable, team‑focused approach — comfortable working in a fast‑paced operational environment
- A car license and reliable transport to travel between Melbourne depots
No prior employee relations expertise is required — we’ll support your development in this space.
What We’ll Offer You
- A development opportunity within a growing People Support function
- Hands‑on HR experience in a complex, operational business
- Mentoring and coaching from experienced People leaders
- Exposure to a broad range of HR activities, not just administration
- A supportive, inclusive team that values learning and growth
- Clear pathways for career progression within People & Safety at Kinetic
- Preferable driver's license (car)
