Data Architect

Data Platform Transition, Reporting Continuity & Enterprise Data Dictionary

Initial 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

About the Role

As Kinetic introduces new ANZ enterprise systems and progressively replaces legacy solutions, we need a Data Architect who can help guide the transition of our reporting and data landscape. This role will support the move from fragmented legacy reporting to a more governed, rationalised and scalable reporting model.

You will help assess current reports, define future reporting patterns, support Day 1 reporting continuity, and establish an Enterprise Data Dictionary that provides clear and consistent data definitions across the organisation.

This is not a pure strategy role and it is not a lift-and-shift reporting role. You will help determine which reports should move to native platform reporting, which require data platform support, which should be retained for historical or cross-system reporting, and which should be retired or revalidated.

You will work closely with enterprise architecture, solution architecture, integration, data, reporting, business SMEs, project teams and vendors to define practical data architecture outcomes that support the Kinetic Transformation program and broader ANZ platform transition.

What You Will Do

  • Define the ANZ data platform transition approach.
  • Support reporting continuity for Our Tools go-lives.
  • Assess current reports and determine future reporting disposition.
  • Establish and maintain the Enterprise Data Dictionary.
  • Define common data entities, attributes, owners and business definitions.
  • Create conceptual, logical and physical data models.
  • Develop source-to-target mappings and data lineage documentation.
  • Support Power BI, Fabric, PBIRS and SQL reporting patterns.
  • Work with business SMEs to clarify reporting and data requirements.
  • Support data governance, metadata, quality, access and security controls.
  • Produce architecture artefacts for DAB, TAB and delivery teams.

What You Will Need

  • Strong data architecture and reporting architecture experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, PBIRS, SQL or Azure data services.
  • Strong data modelling and semantic modelling skills.
  • Experience creating data dictionaries, business glossaries or metadata artefacts.
  • Experience working across complex enterprise systems and transformation programs.
  • Ability to assess legacy reports and define whether they should be rebuilt, replaced, retained or retired.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata and lineage.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • A practical delivery mindset with the ability to balance architecture direction and business continuity.
