The opportunity:

As part of the Marketing & Communications team, the Media & Communications Manager is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for leading and managing the development and execution of a wide range of communications and media activities for Kinetic in Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania.

You will drive internal communication strategies and activities that support service delivery, drive culture and engagement, demonstrate leadership and direction, and highlight sustainability progress. You will also protect and build Kinetic’s brand and reputation through a proactive program of public relations and stakeholder engagement activities. 

The role ensures strong communication channels are in place, along with the coordination of timely, accurate and effective communication materials.

Your main responsibilities include :

  • Lead the day-to-day management, development and functioning of the communications team.
  • Support the success of Kinetic’s organisational priorities across Sustainability, People & Culture, Health, Safety, Environment & Quality.
  • Enhance Kinetic’s brand and reputation.
  • Manage and support successful engagement with internal communication channels.
  • Support the Head of Marketing & Communications in providing leadership across the business.
  • Maintain relationships with a variety of external stakeholder types including industry, community and media. 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s in communications, Journalism or Marketing related disciplines preferred but not necessary
  • Previous experience in marketing and communications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong numerical analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated enthusiastic approach to day-to-day business operations and positive approach to a continual changing work environment.
  • Strong computer literacy, MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
