About the role

We’re seeking an organised and proactive Operations Controller to support the in-field performance of our bus services. Based in our Melbourne depot and reporting to the Depot Supervisor, you’ll be the go-to person for managing operational movements, responding to incidents, and ensuring seamless communication with frontline driving staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate vehicle and driver movements in line with scheduled services
  • Action changeover requests for drivers and buses, including those for maintenance or repairs
  • Monitor and respond to service disruptions, vehicle breakdowns, or staffing shortages
  • Ensure compliance with National Fatigue guidelines and enterprise agreements
  • Support payroll accuracy through correct roster and timesheet updates
  • Provide real-time support to drivers during emergencies or incidents
  • Record operational issues and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Assist with charter allocations and communications with the sales support team
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance and employee engagement

What you’ll need to succeed

  • C Class licence (MR licence preferred or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid Working with Children Check and State Driving Authority
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar operational coordination role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly
  • A team-oriented mindset and a focus on safety and continuous improvement
