Waymark Hotels is seeking an experienced Assistant Venue Manager or Duty Manager to provide relief support and lead our growing venue teams across Regional QLD & NT. We are looking for someone that is willing to work across multiple venues for varied durations. Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on operational leadership and support across all departments including bar, gaming, food, events, functions and retail during relief placements.
- Support team performance by coaching staff, filling operational gaps, and maintaining service standards across multiple departments.
- Assist with budget control and wage management.
- Step in to manage day-to-day challenges including staffing shortages, maintenance coordination, stock control and event execution to ensure seamless operations.
- Build positive relationships with customers and local stakeholders to maintain community engagement and venue reputation during relief assignments.
- Ensure the venue maintains full compliance with legislative requirements and company policies.
About You
The following skills, behaviours, and qualifications are essential:
- Full flexibility and availability to travel across QLD and the NT for varying assignment lengths, including extended placements of several months, while working a range of hospitality hours.
- Current Approved Manager Licence, RMLV, Gaming Nominee, RSA and RSG (or ability to obtain).
- Strong leadership, training, and motivational skills with excellent communication.
- Ability to manage conflict, remain calm under pressure and work unsupervised.
- Management experience in a high-volume food, bar, function, gaming, and retail environment.
