Help Shape the Future of One of WA’s Most Significant Water Resource Recovery Facilities

The Woodman Point Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) is the largest Resource Recovery treatment facility in Western Australia, servicing industrial, commercial and residential customers across Perth’s southern metropolitan region.

As part of a major sludge treatment upgrade, the facility is entering a new era of operations with the introduction of advanced technologies, including a Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) and an enhanced Energy Recovery Facility.

These enhancements significantly increase the complexity and criticality of the site, introducing large-scale steam boiler operations and other advanced treatment and processing systems to the site creating new opportunities for technical leadership and innovation.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Advisor – Electrical to provide specialist electrical expertise across this critical asset base.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence the reliability, safety and performance of complex electrical, instrumentation and SCADA systems while supporting the delivery of essential water services to the community.

What You'll Be Responsible For

As the Technical Advisor – Electrical, you will provide expert technical support across operational, maintenance and capital works activities.

Your role will be instrumental in ensuring electrical assets are maintained to the highest standards of reliability, safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver specialist technical advice on electrical asset faults, failures and performance issues, recommending practical and cost-effective solutions.
• Lead and conduct audits, inspections, condition assessments and performance reviews of electrical and instrumentation assets.
• Provide technical guidance to Maintenance Planners to ensure maintenance strategies align with operational requirements, asset performance objectives and compliance standards.
• Coordinate the collection, analysis and reporting of asset condition and maintenance data to support informed decision-making.
• Support Service Delivery teams with operational and maintenance planning advice to improve asset reliability and efficiency.
• Review design documentation, specifications and tender submissions for new electrical installations, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and maintainability requirements.
• Assist with the installation, testing and commissioning of capital electrical projects, ensuring works comply with project deliverables, technical specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
• Contribute to the safe operation of newly commissioned infrastructure, including assets associated with steam generation, process automation and energy recovery systems.
• Carry out the role of electrical nominee
• Carry out the function of Supervising Gas fitter for assigned assets

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical capability, sound engineering judgement and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

You will possess:

• A current WA Electrical Worker’s Licence (Electrician's Licence).
• A valid C Class Driver’s Licence.
• Significant experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical assets within water, wastewater, industrial processing or critical infrastructure environments.
• Strong knowledge of asset management principles, maintenance planning and reliability-centred maintenance practices.
• Demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve complex electrical faults and performance issues.
• Well-developed stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.

The following would be highly regarded:

• High Voltage switching certification and practical HV experience.
• Experience working with electrical, instrumentation and SCADA systems.
• Experience using SAP maintenance management systems.
• Exposure to steam generation systems, energy recovery facilities or other complex process plant environments.
• Experience carrying out the function of electrical nominee
• Experience supervising or maintaining Type B gas appliances and associated gas systems and equipment and or WA Gas Fitting Permit.
