We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven professional to join the Finance team as a Facilities Strategy & Projects - Team Leader.

About the role 

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership to plan, develop and optimise Water Corporation’s facilities and accommodation portfolio across metropolitan, regional and remote locations. This is a key leadership role shaping the future of our facilities footprint across WA. Reporting to the Manager Facilities & Fleet, you will lead the development of long-term strategies and a 10-year capital plan to ensure our infrastructure supports future operating models, workforce needs and service delivery requirements.

You will be accountable for the facilities capital program, asset and accommodation strategies, and supporting policies, including new builds, refurbishments and lifecycle planning. You will also lead a multidisciplinary team and contractor network to prioritise and deliver facilities investment across the portfolio, while maintaining a clear separation between strategic planning and operational service delivery.

What the role will involve 

  • Develop and maintain the Facilities Asset Class Strategy, to enable long-term planning aligned with organisational objectives, risk appetite, and sustainability goals.
  • Lead development of the 10-Year Facilities Capital Plan, to deliver a prioritised and achievable investment pipeline aligned to demand, risk, and business needs.
  • Lead the planning, prioritisation and governance of the facilities capital works program (new builds, refurbishments, major upgrades), to ensure delivery of a coordinated and outcome-focused investment program aligned to organisational priorities
  • Develop and prepare business cases, investment proposals and funding submissions, to secure approval for capital projects and enable timely delivery of infrastructure outcomes.
  • Provide strategic oversight and governance of facilities projects from initiation to completion, to ensure delivery aligns with approved scope, risk settings and organisational priorities.
  • Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, including scope definition, approvals and assurance processes, to ensure consistency, transparency and control across all facilities projects.

Key skills and experience 

  • A Degree in property, engineering, construction, facilities management, or related discipline
  • Extensive experience in facilities planning, capital program development, or asset strategy
  • Substantial experience in business case development and capital investment governance
  • Strong understanding of facilities asset lifecycle planning and capital planning frameworks.
  • Considerable experience operating in a large, geographically dispersed organisation, preferably with office and depot management experience
  • Considerable experience developing strategies, policies, and governance frameworks
