About the role

Join the Water Corporation as a Specialist – Operations Compliance and you will be responsible for providing high level operational support to the Manager – Operations Compliance in the management of the Operating Licence obligations. You will provide strategic input into the development and delivery of the Operations Group Assurance Program and lead a series of risk-based assurance reviews focused on legal, regulatory, internal process compliance, and change effectiveness whilst ensuring corrective actions resulting from these assurance activities are agreed and implemented. Overseeing the Operations Group’s Forum workload will form a critical part of your role including managing the Forum Governance framework and working closely with Chairs to ensure alignment with the direction and objectives of the Operations Group and organisation.

What you can expect with this role

  • Undertake reviews of the regulatory compliance and audit reports and collaborate with process owners to ensure they are aware of the outcomes and the actions required to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the delivery of the Assurance Program and assigned reviews, audits, and investigations to assure performance and compliance.
  • Undertake project lead role for assigned projects aimed at improving process performance and/ or management control effectiveness.
  • Continuously support the Manager, Operations Compliance, and the Operations Compliance team in the execution of compliance, assurance, forum, and Section related workplan items.
  • Maintain oversight of the Forum Governance Framework, communication processes and supporting documents.
  • Comply with the accountability requirements as set out in the Water Corporation’s Accountabilities Framework.

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

  • Degree level qualification in a relevant field, with substantial experience within operations compliance or an assurance environment.
  • Considerable experience in identifying and effecting change resulting from external audits and internal assurance reviews.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in undertaking reviews, audits, and investigations of compliance.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to communicate with people at various levels of management, and able to build rapport.
  • Considerable experience in working collaboratively to develop compliance systems and address issues as they arise.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse compliance performance.
