About the role:

As a Contract Advisor, you will plan, develop and establish low-value and less complex contracts and agreements for the procurement of goods, services and works. You will also support the delivery of procurement services for assigned capital works projects, ensuring procurement activities are conducted efficiently and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

 What the role will involve:

  • Prepares procurement plans for routine procurement of goods and services when this is considered necessary.
  • Assists with the development of Procurement Plans for critical or high-risk non-works contracts, when required, including the collection and collation of information to allow the plan to be developed and the drafting and/or review of certain parts of the document.
  • Assists with the reviews of business cases developed by the Project Management Group for CIP approval with regards to procurement planning information and assists with the formulation of recommendations arising from these reviews.
  • Prepares documentation calling for quotations, tenders, registrations of interest, proposals, prequalification submissions and the like (Bids) for the lower valued and/or less complex contracts.
  • Prepares temporary personnel contracts.
  • Prepares research agreements including development scopes of services.

Key skills and experience

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, or tertiary qualifications combined with substantial experience in procurement and contract management within a utility, heavy engineering, or construction environment.
  • Working knowledge of contracting and contract and commercial law.
  • Minimum 1-2 years previous contract experience working in a similar organisation
  • Working knowledge of the procurement policies and procedures employed by large Corporations.
  • Sound working knowledge of business computer systems and those applications used to support the procurement function.
