About the role
We are excited to offer a fixed term opportunity joining our Environmental Business Unit in Leederville. You will work closely with a high performing team of professionals to support the Aboriginal Communities Water Services (ACWS) program.
Our ACWS program was established in July 2023 to manage the transition from the Department of Communities to Water Corporation, providing safe and reliable water services to Aboriginal communities. The ACWS program is a critical component of our Thrive2035 goals, our Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Strategy, and the transformation roadmap. Your work will support the design, construction, and operation of ACWS assets, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and environmental sustainability goals.
What the role will involve
- Conduct critical evaluations of Environmental Risk Assessments (ERAs), applying structured benchmarking to ensure alignment with Environment BU methodologies and risk criteria.
- Develop and integrate dashboards to support Environmental Risk Assessments (ERAs) and internal reporting protocols.
- Provide strategic technical guidance and advice on risk to environmental values through asset acquisition process.
- Assess regulatory risk and propose WWTP upgrade parameters that are “fit for purpose”.
- Support the development of process control tables and environmental monitoring plans based on environmental risk and disposal pathways.
- Prepare and submit WWTP licence applications under Western Australian regulatory frameworks.
- Author and maintain Environmental Management Framework documentation and tools, including procedures and risk assessment methodologies.

About you
- A qualified environmental professional with a degree in environmental science or engineering and proven experience in environmental management
- Substantial experience in dealing with environmental assessment
- Considerable experience with processes under environmental legislation and their management in a large, diverse, commercial or regulatory organisation
- Considerable experience interacting with regulators, stakeholders and interest groups
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill promoting and leading the Corporation in achieving sustainable environmental outcomes accelerating environmental sustainability
- Experience in asset planning and operations is highly regarded
- Familiarity with geodatabases
