About the role:

We have a permanent opportunity available for an Operator based in our Albany depot.

This position will be responsible for the operational maintenance of water supply, wastewater, and drainage within the district on complex schemes with technical complexity.

Wages will be determined as per the Civil Framework.

Proposed start date 12th May 2025.

 

What the role will involve: 

  • Operation, maintenance and repairs to Water, wastewater, and drainage assets; as well as operational sites and public facilities.
  • Records and documents information relevant to the scheduled work in an accurate and timely manner, including use of forms, computers and other devices as required.
  • Participate in safe job planning, team meetings and inspections.
  • Carry out operations and maintenance tasks using specialist tools, plant and equipment supplied for such activity.
  • Liaising with Shires and/or consultants/contractors for major works projects to ensure compliance with WC where delegated.
  • Ensuring that all work is undertaken with safety as the priority in the provision of a work environment where no injury is considered acceptable, and all activities are undertaken without compromising health and safety.


Key skills and experience: 

  • Willingness to complete Certificate III in NWP 
  • Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills 
  • Water sampler qualification - desirable
  • Confined Space, SCBA and/or gas monitoring certifications – desirable 
  • Ability to work after-hours and participate on a standby roster.
  • A high degree of leadership and planning skills
