About the role

We have a 12-month fixed term opportunity for a Treasury- Senior Analyst within the Financial Services Business Unit. As a key member of the Corporate Finance team, you will be responsible for managing the treasury function, this will involve minimising risk in relation to liquidity and funding, interest rate, foreign exchange, credit and other treasury operations.

Reporting to the Team Leader – Corporate Finance, you will build strong working relationships across the business and partner with counterparts in Western Australian Treasury Corporation, Department of Treasury, Financial Institutions and Infrastructure Western Australia to deliver on the Corporation’s strategic objectives.

What you can expect with this role

  • Daily cash flow management, investment management, debt portfolio and interest rate risk management.
  • Manage relationship with Western Australian Treasury Corporation, Department of Treasury, Financial Institutions and Infrastructure Western Australia.
  • Independently prepare research, including financial and economic analysis on strategic financial issues.
  • Proactively review and seek feedback on financial methodologies, accounting standards and policies from key stakeholders.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, including report writing to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of key proposals/commercial contracts and assess their impact on the Corporation’s finances.
  • Review capital investment proposals and advise on financial and commercial implications.
  • Provide expert advice and consultancy on finance and accounting matters as required.
  • Ensure adherence to the Corporation’s financial policies, standards, and procedures.

 

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or an approved equivalent.
  • Substantial treasury management and interest rate risk management experience in a large commercial organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Considerable experience in developing and analysing financial models using computer based analytical and corporate information systems.
  • Solid understanding of accounting standards and internal control requirements.
