About the position
We have a permanent opportunity for a Team Leader – Civil to lead a team of Operators and Trainees. You will enjoy developing, motivating and managing the team of competent Water Corporation workers providing water and wastewater services to customers within the Goldfields & Agricultural Region and based in Merredin. Without compromising health and safety, the role is responsible for organising and prioritising work across unplanned and planned activities and operational requirements.

About the role
· Leads the team safety initiatives including daily review team meetings, JHA preparation, workplace inspection and hazard identification and control and manages the action of improvements identified
· Manage the team day to day resource management/workload management in relation to the resource requirements of the region escalating to the Operations Manager when appropriate
· Build employee capability through mentoring, coaching, ensuring awareness of corporate/technical training opportunities, providing on and off the job instructional supervision and knowledge transfer as appropriate
· Provision of water related services to all Water Corporation customers within the region in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements
· Work with the Operations Manager to maximise outcomes in the region from corporate processes
· Monitor and report on the financial and business performance of the team, including operating costs, efficient use of resources and meeting performance targets and objectives
Key skills and experience
· Completion of Certificate III in Water Operations or Trades qualification equivalent
· Completion or progress toward attainment of Certificate IV in Frontline Management or equivalent
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills
· Demonstrates the values and behaviours that contribute to a constructive, high performance culture
· Demonstrated commitment to OSH procedures
· WA C Class Driver’s licence
· Be available for rostered overtime and call-out emergencies outside of normal working hours
