Civil - Senior Operator

About the role

Based in Carnarvon, you'll work across a diverse range of operational activities including borefield operations, water treatment, water quality sampling, leak investigations, maintenance and repairs. You'll also have the opportunity to travel to locations including Coral Bay, Exmouth, Denham and Gascoyne Junction, giving you exposure to a broad range of assets and systems.

What you can expect with this role

• Operating and maintaining water and wastewater infrastructure
• Managing borefield and pumping operations into treatment plants
• Conducting water quality sampling, chlorine testing and monitoring
• Responding to leaks, faults and operational issues across water networks
• Performing planned and reactive maintenance activities
• Supporting the delivery of water and sewer reticulation services
• Contributing to system reliability, compliance and customer service outcomes
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members, including a trainee
• Gaining exposure to ultra-filtration treatment processes through work at other depots

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

• Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (or equivalent)
• Demonstrated experience operating water and wastewater systems
• Strong knowledge of water sampling, chlorination and water quality monitoring
• Experience with operational repairs, maintenance and reticulation networks
• Current driver's licence
• Willingness to participate in a standby roster
• A proactive, safety-focused approach to work
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities
