About the role

We are seeking a Senior OT Planner to develop products to enable the efficient and effective delivery of the OT asset investment planning function through robust OT asset management plans which balance technical, operational, commercial and strategic OT needs.

As Senior Planner – OT Planning, you will:

  • Assess current and future OT asset/system/technology performance and risk against requirements to inform investment and planning priorities and assessment of optimal investment timing.
  • Support and contribute to the development of the 5-year OT capital program plan to enable optimal decisions around timing and scope of investment, management of risk and OT customer demand.
  • Develop and evaluate OT asset renewal and obsolescence program, improvement and investment options to achieve required business outcomes in accordance with strategic and life cycle planning frameworks.
  • Develop asset investment plans, business cases and projects with deliverables that mitigate risk and meet the investment objectives of the relevant asset portfolio.
  • Lead the development of asset monitoring and assessment programs that provide the required information for robust asset investment decisions.
  • Lead and deliver complex analysis, projects and specialist engineering studies and trials relating to development of optimised investment plans.
  • Contribute to development of OT asset class management plans and improvement of OT asset management system.
  • Maintain strong awareness of latest technology or risk mitigation options across OT stack.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • A degree in Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Considerable experience in the planning, design, acquisition or operational delivery of Asset Investment programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of work practices and systems relevant to asset investment planning and asset acquisition process.
  • Experience and knowledge of Control System assets including SCADA, PLC, RTU, communication devices, instrumentation, and associated software applications.
  • Strong cost estimation skills. NPV calculation skill is an advantage.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability in writing KPI driven business cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to analyse and translate data into meaningful insights. 

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience in the utilities sector.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and how they relate to Control systems.
  • Project management skills and awareness.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements for Operational Technology (OT) systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
