About the role:

Join a dynamic team of communications professionals dedicated to delivering effective stakeholder and community engagement strategies across a large range of water, wastewater and drainage infrastructure projects throughout the state.

One position is available immediately, in our Regional team. This team focusses on supporting projects and communities across WA (outside the Perth metro area).

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Develop, implement and maintain effective communication and community engagement strategies to support the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders that may be impacted by our infrastructure projects to deliver community engagement initiatives.
  • Produce content for print and digital channels to aid project outcomes.
  • Manage customer and stakeholder issues and complaints. 
  • Coordinate announcements and Ministerial correspondence with our internal Media Team and Ministerial Liaison Unit.

Key skills and experience:

  • Degree level qualification in communications, public relations or related discipline is preferred or substantial equivalent experience.
  • Experience in community engagement, stakeholder and issues management, ideally for a large multi-disciplined organisation.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to summarise complex issues for common use.
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills; able to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
  • A strong alignment and commitment to our values and behaviours that contribute to a constructive, high performance culture.
  • Experience in Ministerial engagement and/or working with government processes is desirable.
  • Prior IAP2 training desired but not essential.
  • Ability to undertake work travel, as required, to regional areas
