About the role
We have an acting opportunity as the Team Leader – Ministerial Communications in the Government & Stakeholder Business Unit. Reporting to the Manager – Government & Stakeholders you will lead a small team that write, review and manage approvals of Ministerial correspondence and briefing notes to ensure they are accurate, effective and timely.
What the role will offer
- Manage the process for producing correspondence and briefing notes including internal sign off to tight deadlines in close liaison with senior management
- Use conceptual and research skills to analyse information provided by subject matter experts and lead a small team that prepare correspondence and briefing notes
- Manage centre of expertise advice on format, content, tone and style for draft correspondence and briefing notes to ensure they conform to a high standard
- Manage the workflow of the Ministerial communications team and ensure all staff involved in the process have a clear understanding of their responsibilities
Key skills and experience
- Degree level qualification or relevant experience in political science, public policy, communications, public relations or other relevant discipline.
- Considerable experience in stakeholder engagement and leading a team in a large multi-disciplined and commercially focussed customer service organisation
- Relevant experience and demonstrated capability in processes, procedures and protocols related to the workings of government and ministerial liaison
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrated by an ability to consistently produce clear and compelling information.
