Discover the role for you while shaping WA’s water future.
Everyone deserves access to safe water, and we’re all about providing consistent and reliable water services to our customers. Whether you’re out in the field repairing a fault or making important decisions in our operations centre, a career in our operations team is dynamic, challenging and rewarding.
Join the frontline of your community’s water future and become a Civil Operator in Northam!
Think of it like this, when a pipe bursts at home, you call a plumber. But when it happens underground on your street, it’s the Water Corporation Civil Operator who keeps the taps flowing for everyone.
As a Civil Operator, you’re more than a tradie.
You're a key part of the community, working outdoors in the fresh Wheatbelt air, using your hands and head to keep the water network running smoothly.
From digging trenches to restoring burst mains, you'll be doing work that matters, every single day.
This role also comes with real variety. Because we support communities across the region, you will sometimes need to travel for work, which can mean early starts or late finishes when the job calls for it.
No two days look the same, and you will be part of a team that pulls together to keep essential services running, where your flexibility and commitment make a genuine difference.
This is a full-time fixed term opportunity until 28th April 2028.
This role is all about:
- Getting your hands dirty with real, practical work
- Learning a range of in-demand skills that open doors to future careers in tech, leadership, and beyond
- Being part of a tight-knit team that values safety, mateship, and doing the job right
You'll also:
- Plan your work with safety front and centre, because nothing is more important than heading home safe.
- Maintain, repair, and operate water and wastewater systems across town.
- Step up to callouts and overtime when the community needs you most.
Sounds good, what’s in it for me?
