About the role

We have a permanent opportunity for an experienced Principal Engineer based in our Leederville office. This role will assist in or lead as required the provision of quality strategic and planning advice, definition, design, commissioning co-ordination, operational troubleshooting and standard specification services for Water Corporation’s used and reuse water management assets.

What the role will involve

  • An opportunity to be part of, learn within and contribute to a key, high-performance team
  • Develop hydraulic and process simulation expertise for investigation and optimisation of asset performance
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting expertise to help solve difficult problems with operational used water and reuse water management systems
  • Undertake the role of Design Engineer for assigned planning and Capital projects, and develop outputs for conformity to agreed requirements, standards, time and cost
  • Plan and manage the development and delivery of investigations, analyses and fit-for-purpose concept designs
  • Review and amendment as necessary of engineering output, including mentoring and training of less experienced colleagues.
  • Support the development and delivery of draft new engineering standards and guidelines
  • Liaise with internal customers, external suppliers, service agencies, consultants, industry regulators and agencies as required, in relation to used and reuse water management
  • Maintain focus on continuous review and improvement of quality processes and best practice design and feed into lessons learnt process

About you

You’ll have a qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, along with extensive experience in used and reuse water-related planning, design, engineering, delivery, commissioning and operation of used water management assets. Your knowledge of investigation, process simulation and analysis of water management asset performance will ensure success in this role.
