About the role

Our project management team has a permanent opportunity within Construction Assurance for a Technical Advisor Civil Construction. In this role you’ll undertake site supervision, inspections and reporting on contractor performance to ensure infrastructure projects are completed in accordance with our contract specifications, Water Corporation technical standards and HSEQ policies and procedures. This position will be based in our Leederville office, reporting to the Team Leader Civil Assurance.

What the role will involve

  • Monitor the construction of infrastructure assets and ensure work conforms to contract specifications, corporate technical and quality standards
  • Prepare detailed reports to record site activities, to ensure Contractors HSEQ of works and identify deficiencies
  • Measure contractor performance, report deviations from specifications and construction program
  • Provide technical advice for the connection of new assets to existing systems
  • Review tender drawings prior to tendering and raise constructability issues relating to errors and omissions of the design
  • Ensures compliance on site with all relevant Water Corporation HSEQ standards and specifications
  • Communicate construction, fabrication and quality requirements to the contractor, verify and undertake inspections and tests of the works

Key skills and experience

You’ll be qualified in a trade certificate or post-secondary qualification in a project management discipline, along with considerable experience with a broad range of water industry related engineering infrastructure and civil construction techniques. Your strong contract supervision and quality assurance knowledge, along with demonstrated ability to conduct industry accepted inspections and testing will ensure success in this role.
