About the role 

We are seeking experienced and innovative Principal Solution Architects to join our Information Security Office Cyber Security Platform Team. In this influential role, you will lead the design of enterprise technology solutions that enable business transformation, improve operational outcomes, and support the delivery of essential services to the Western Australian community.

Working closely with business stakeholders, architects, project teams, and technology partners, you will translate business needs into robust, scalable, and future-focused technology solutions that align with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and strategic roadmaps.

What the role will involve: 

As a Principal Solution Architect, you will:

• Lead the design and delivery of technology solutions across a diverse enterprise environment.
• Translate business requirements into technical architectures and solution designs.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, vendors, and project teams to develop fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Contribute to enterprise architecture strategies, technology roadmaps, and application lifecycle initiatives.
• Provide architectural leadership and governance throughout project delivery.
• Assess the impact of proposed solutions and ensure alignment with established architecture principles and standards.
• Support architecture governance processes and contribute to critical architectural decision-making.
• Research emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities that deliver business value.
• Maintain and enhance architecture documentation and repositories.

To be successful, you will bring:

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Degree qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience designing and implementing ICT solutions across multiple architecture domains.
• Extensive experience working with business and technical stakeholders to define solution requirements and architecture outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience operating within enterprise architecture and governance frameworks.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

• Strong understanding of solution architecture, enterprise architecture, and IT governance principles.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes and benefits.
• Excellent understanding of technology dependencies across large and complex organisations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery outcomes.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

Desirable

• Experience within utility, infrastructure, or asset-intensive industries.
• Knowledge of enterprise application ecosystems and technology platforms.
• Active professional networks within the architecture community.
• Familiarity with utility business operations.
