About the role
As the Senior Wastewater Planning Advisor, you will provide technical expertise to ensure existing and future wastewater treatment plants and water recycling schemes are planned, designed, and delivered in line with regulatory requirements. This 17-month fixed-term opportunity will see you play a key role in developing sustainable capital and operational solutions, managing risk, and supporting the delivery of critical projects that underpin reliable, compliant, and future-focused wastewater services.

What you can expect with this role
- Provide technical expertise to ensure wastewater treatment and recycled water schemes are planned, designed, and delivered in line with regulatory and public health requirements.
- Influence key infrastructure investments by supporting asset planning, options development and supporting project delivery.
- Lead wastewater quality and risk management initiatives, including the development of mitigation strategies and continuous improvement programs.
- Drive the performance and compliance of recycled water schemes through monitoring, optimisation, and implementation of operational and capital improvements.
- Providing advice on wastewater quality frameworks, recycled water agreements, third-party reuse proposals, and risk assessments.
- Engage with regulators and internal and external stakeholders, preparing approvals, reporting on outcomes, and communicating complex technical information.
Your skills and experience
For this role, we are looking for great talent with:
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences and project teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and technologies, with the ability to apply technical expertise to operational and planning challenges.
- The ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Degree qualification in a relevant science or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience, supported by strong technical knowledge of wastewater and risk management.
