About the role

You will hold a high level of responsibility for auditing and authorising engineering works that have the potential to directly or indirectly impact Water Corporation assets ensuring works is completed in accordance with Water Corporation technical, quality and safety standards.

What you can expect with this role

• You will provide technical advice to internal and external customers on behalf of the Water Corporation to ensure asset, contractor and public safety

• Manage the Region’s asset protection service including Asset Protection Risk Assessments (APRA), Contractor Work Authority (CWA) and Third Party Access (TPA) by providing “one point of contact” to internal/external parties whose proposals impact or pose a risk to existing water, wastewater and drainage assets.

• Assess technical documentation, attend internal and external meetings as the Corporation representative to ensure effective Asset Protection, also and provide technical and safety advice to influence timely resolutions with the intent to mitigate construction and asset risks 

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:   

• A relevant Degree (ideally Civil Engineering) or Trade qualification OR extensive civil construction experience in a large multi-disciplined organisation.

• High level of knowledge of the National Standards and Guidelines relating to the design, construction and operation of water, sewerage and drainage infrastructure

• Report writing and technical analysis relating to O&M infrastructure within the water/wastewater industry

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively

• Confidence in interpreting engineering drawings in relation to, operation requirements for asset risk minimisation

• C class or higher drivers’ licence
