About the role

We have two permanent full-time opportunities for a Technical Officer role joining our Commercial & Industrial Services Section. You’ll be responsible to coordinate and deliver Water Corporation’s Commercial and Industrial Services activities to the prescribed policies, standards and guidelines to ensure that customer-related activities do not compromise the integrity or operation of Water Corporation’s services and assets. These roles will be based in our Balcatta office reporting to the Team Leader - Service Protection and Team Leader - Assessments.

What the role will involve

  • Work in a team environment to deliver Water Corporation's Trade Wastewater and Backflow Prevention compliance management programs.
  • Plan, schedule and perform a variety of office and field-based activities related to our customer compliance management programs.
  • Evaluate, assess and translate technical information or legislative requirements to our customers and provide a high-quality customer service to Commercial and Industrial customers to ensure Trade Wastewater and Backflow related compliance requirements are met.
  • Provide high quality customer service to our business customers with a focus on achieving compliance outcomes.
  • You will receive on the job training and support to develop the skills related to Trade Wastewater and Backflow Prevention compliance management.

Key skills and experience

You’ll have tertiary qualification in science or engineering related discipline with skills and experience in managing customer compliance in a technical or regulatory field such as environmental, pollution control, waste management or similar. You’ll also possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be capable of developing and maintaining effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Your ability to manage your time effectively and prioritise tasks to ensure results are achieved within established timeframes meeting expected quality standards, and a flexible attitude and the ability to operate in a changing but structured process-based environment will be highly regarded. You have proven experience working both in the office and the field, with a current driver’s licence (minimum C Class).
