About the role
We have a permanent opportunity for an experienced Community Partnerships Coordinator based in our Balcatta office. In this newly created role, you will bring your energy, relationship skills and creativity to help shape and manage community partnerships, events and activities which support our business strategy and Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to create outcomes for our customers and local communities.
Reporting to the Community Partnerships and Education Lead and working alongside a team of community partnerships, events specialists, and educators you will help Water Corporation build community trust, raise awareness of the preciousness of water, connect communities with their local water stories and environment and support organisations to have a positive impact; amplifying the wisdom, knowledge and value that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people bring to our community.

What the role will involve:
- Identifying, managing, and leveraging impactful community partnerships with external organisations which align to our Corporate Strategy and RAP, to derive mutually beneficial value, and deliver on key outcomes for Water Corporation, partners and local communities
- Developing and implementing partnership agreements, leveraging activities and evaluation reports, to maximise our investment and partners’ influence to engage our customers and communities
- Participating in broader team activities to deliver our community investment program which includes project management of one-off community events, activations and activities to increase water knowledge and promote water saving behaviour
- Forming effective working relationships with external partners, local community members, colleagues across the business and stakeholders across the state to deliver effective community impact initiatives that connect with key communities and customers throughout WA
- Crafting stories and identifying media opportunities which bring our community partnerships, events and activations to life by working with colleagues across marketing channels to leverage and support our partnerships and events
Key skills and experience:
- Degree qualification in communications, public relations, event management, marketing or a related discipline or considerable experience in a similar role in a medium to large multi-disciplined organisation
- Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and cultures
- Skilled and experienced in developing and maintaining relationships with Aboriginal organisations and delivering co-designed programs with external partners for mutual benefit which support Reconciliation Action Plans
- Skilled in end-to-end project and /or event management
- Considerable experience in developing and implementing sponsorship and /or community partnership with external organisations and identifying mutually beneficial activities and opportunities
- Considerable experience with brand application and alignment to corporate objectives
- High level of personal organisation
- Considerable experience in community relations and external stakeholder management
- Highly developed and proven interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Excellent written skills and creative storytelling capability
- A valid Working with Children Check and clean WA driver’s license will be required
- Occasional out of hours work and weekend work will be required as part of this role
