About the role

We have a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity for a Specialist – Category Management to provide specialist Category Management advice and services for high value, complex and strategic procurement categories. This role is based in Leederville and will report to the Team Leader – Category Management.

What you can expect with this role

In this role, you’ll provide specialist Category Management advice and services across high-value, complex, and strategic procurement categories to ensure we are maximising commercial, risk, and safety outcomes from third-party supply arrangements. Leveraging market intelligence and economic insights, you’ll develop sourcing strategies, lead negotiations, manage complex RFx processes, and oversee supplier performance. You’ll also drive procurement planning, contract implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives, while embedding ESG and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander engagement opportunities into procurement practices.

Your skills and experience

As an experienced procurement professional, you will be degree-qualified in a business-related discipline and bring substantial experience in sourcing and category management. You have a successful track record of performing supply market research, preparing commercial strategies, taking complex requirements to market, and participating in high value negotiations.

Your ability to manage supplier performance and post-award contracts will be key in supporting large-scale, high-value arrangements. With experience in multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed organisations, you’re confident working across diverse teams to deliver practical, impactful outcomes for our community.
