About the role                                                                                    

We have a permanent opportunity for a Principal - Metro Source, Treatment and Recovery to lead asset investment planning for our metro Perth portfolios. The role will be based in our Leederville office and will report to the Manager - Assets Metro Source Treatment & Recovery.

What you can expect with this role

  • Provide expertise and high-level specialist advice to the business relating to water, wastewater and recycled water planning and engineering, including techniques, standards and processes
  • Provide technical leadership in the development and implementation of processes to ensure and improve water, wastewater and recycled water planning and engineering across the business
  • Review the technical content of Asset Investment Planning products, to deliver required business outcomes.
  • Provide technical leadership to improve risk-based asset management decision making processes for scheme water planning across the business
  • Manage project teams to address complex integrated water cycle management planning problems and technical innovation as required
  • Lead project teams to support the delivery of section or branch outcomes
  • Collaborate with Section Managers to provide technical mentoring of people and inform competency framework on skills requirements to ensure work programs delivers required business outcomes

Your skills and experience

We’re seeking an experienced water professional with a degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline, along with relevant demonstrated expertise in the field(s) of water source and treatment planning, wastewater treatment and recycling, alternative water, and/or water efficiency. Given the requirement to utilise your skills across the breadth of metro planning, you will be a highly motivated and adaptive team member, who has willing to learn and bring your stakeholders along the journey with you.

This senior role plays a pivotal part in shaping the future of water services in WA through the development of innovative solutions and contribution to sector wide strategic planning. You'll be confident influencing senior leadership, engaging with external regulators, and building trust with local community groups, ensuring alignment between technical outcomes and community expectations.
