About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and delivery-driven Program Director to guide strategic alignment and deliver complex, high-impact initiatives within our People and Safety Group (PSG). This strategic leadership role is integral to the successful implementation of our Great Place to Work Strategy, aligning people and safety programs with organisational transformation objectives.
You’ll operate with a high degree of autonomy, driving key projects from concept to execution while collaborating closely with senior executives, cross-functional teams, and the Transformation Office. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment, who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and who is energised by the challenge of enabling real change and performance uplift.

What the role will involve
- Leading the delivery of critical people and safety initiatives that are aligned with organisational priorities and transformation goals.
- Guiding the progress, reporting and governance of the Great place to work strategy, incl:
- Partnering with senior leaders across the business to ensure alignment, engagement, and accountability throughout the program lifecycle.
- Applying best-practice project and change management approaches to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, on budget, and with measurable outcomes.
- Driving strong governance and benefit realisation practices, including risk identification, mitigation planning, and impact tracking.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders by providing clear, solution-focused insights and strategic recommendations.
- Championing continuous improvement through practical application of performance enhancement frameworks and methodologies.
- Supporting capability uplift by mentoring and empowering PSG delivery teams and initiative leads.
- Promoting collaboration across the business and building strong, trust-based relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Representing the People and Safety Group in strategic forums and driving a culture of innovation, inclusion, and high performance.
Key skills and experience
We’re looking for someone who is:
- A customer-centred, systems thinker with experience applying systemic change to process, people, data and technology offering (preferably with SAP) to enhance the employee experience
- A collaborative team player who builds strong relationships and fosters an inclusive, outcomes-driven culture.
- An experienced influencer with the confidence and credibility to engage with and challenge senior executives constructively.
- Strategically minded with the ability to see the big picture and translate it into actionable, value-adding initiatives.
- Adaptable and flexible, able to pivot in response to shifting priorities and emerging challenges.
- Solution-focused, with a can-do mindset and a strong sense of accountability for results.
- Delivery-focused, with a clear track record of bringing large, complex projects and programs to successful completion.
- Highly skilled in stakeholder engagement, capable of navigating competing interests to deliver common outcomes.
- Experienced in program and project management, with sound knowledge of improvement methodologies and change frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, PRINCE 2 PMBOK, PROSCI, etc).
You will also bring:
- A degree level qualification in business, HR, commerce, or related discipline.
- Extensive experience leading cross-functional projects in a dynamic, complex environment
- Advanced analytical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to interpret data, uncover root causes, and drive informed decision-making
- Proven ability to coach and support others in project delivery and capability uplift.
