Currently, we have a fixed-term opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven professional to join the Finance Team as a Corporate Finance - Analyst.
About the role:
The Corporate Finance team is looking for a motivated individual to join the team as an Analyst. As part of a well-respected team, you will support the team in financial modelling and management accounting activities ensuring alignment to Water Corporation objectives.

What the role will involve:
- Undertake and support the financial modelling of capital and operating investment proposals using the Corporation’s main financial models.
- Support Water Corporation’s high-level budgeting and forecasting processes in alignment with Budget and Mid-Year Review updates to the State Government.
- Adopt a strategic partnering approach and collaborate with key stakeholders across the Corporation on revenue and expenditure forecasting, and key projects.
- Update the WA Government’s Strategic Information Management System which is used for whole-of-government financial information collection and reporting.
- Engage with stakeholders, both internal and external (e.g. Department of Treasury and Finance, Infrastructure Western Australia and other Government departments), to share knowledge, analyse issues and produce high quality communications that are fit-for-purpose.
Key skills and experience
- You have a degree in commerce, economics or another relevant discipline, and ideally have experience in financial modelling using MS Excel, project evaluation and/or business case assessments.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- You have an eye for detail and work well in a team to successfully deliver on team commitments.
- You are comfortable engaging with various stakeholders for day-to-day operations. The Corporate Finance team fosters a culture of collaboration across the Water Corporation and with our Government counterparts.
- You are able to exercise judgement and discretion in dealing with sensitive issues and senior management.
- You have effective oral and written communication skills, especially in succinctly conveying complex technical concepts and issues.
