About the role
As Team Leader – Operations Project Delivery, you will lead a team of Project Managers & Coordinators responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of complex capital and operational infrastructure projects across the region. You will provide clear direction and oversight from early planning and design through to construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. With accountability for significant investment, you will focus on achieving strong commercial outcomes and delivering fit‑for‑purpose assets that create long‑term value for the organisation and its customers.
In this role, you will combine technical expertise with strong people leadership and stakeholder management. You will guide procurement and contract strategies, manage contractor performance, and represent the organisation in key commercial and stakeholder engagements. You will also build team capability through mentoring and coaching, promote a strong safety and compliance culture, and continuously improve project delivery practices. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on balancing strategic oversight with hands‑on decision‑making in a complex operational environment.

What you can expect with this role
- Leading and supporting a team of Project Managers to deliver a portfolio of capital and operational projects from planning through to construction, commissioning and handover
- Providing strategic oversight of project scope, schedule, budget, risk and quality to ensure safe, compliant and value‑for‑money outcomes
- Leading corrective and cyclic maintenance teams in an operational environment
- Setting procurement and contract strategies, overseeing tendering processes, and managing contractor performance and commercial outcomes
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, regulators and community representatives to support successful project delivery
- Managing team performance, capability and resourcing through coaching, mentoring and ongoing development
- Identifying risks and opportunities, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring all projects align with organisational policies, standards and objectives
Your skills and experience
For this role, we are looking for great talent with:
- You have substantial experience in engineering or project management, with a strong track record delivering complex infrastructure or construction projects in a large, multidisciplinary environment
- You are a confident people leader who enjoys mentoring, coaching and developing teams to achieve high performance and safe project outcomes
- You bring well‑developed commercial capability, including experience in procurement, tender evaluation, contract negotiation and ongoing contract management
- Experience leading corrective and cyclic maintenance teams or functions desirable
- You have a solid understanding of managing risk, budgets and schedules, and are comfortable making informed decisions in a complex and fast‑paced environment
- You communicate clearly and build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, regulators and internal teams
- You demonstrate strong personal leadership aligned with organisational values, with a focus on safety, integrity, accountability and continuous improvement
