Our Engineering Associate Traineeship starts on 28 January 2026 and gives you hands-on experience across our business while you study – with all course fees covered by us.

This position is based in Bunbury. Candidates must be available to attend a two-week training block in Perth from 2 to 13 February 2026. Accommodation and travel for this two-week training block will be arranged and covered by Water Corporation.

What you’ll be doing

This two-year traineeship includes extensive on-the-job training, mentoring and coaching, and a range of personal and professional development opportunities tailored to your growth.

From day one, you’ll learn about the design and planning principles of water mains, pump systems and wastewater networks. You’ll understand how to monitor water and wastewater schemes, identify asset deficiencies and how to build and install water and wastewater components.

You’ll study both in a group and independently, gaining the skills to complete your traineeship and build a meaningful career.

Who we’re looking for

You’re eligible if you:

  • Finished Year 12 in the last 2 years or are due to finish year 12 in 2025
  • Obtained a WACE with ATAR Maths Applications, or at least a “C” in Mathematics General Essential and English, with an interest in physics and science, or hold a Certificate III in Drafting or Engineering
  • Hold a WA C class driver’s licence
  • Have full Australian work rights
  • Are based in the Bunbury region,
  • Are least 18 years old
  • Are available to attend a two-week TAFE block in Perth from 2 February to 13 February 2026.
